People who are looking to retain their youthful looks normally think about having painful surgery, yet there are a number of non-surgical face lift therapies that can be just as effective and will usually cost a lot less with little or no recovery time involved. For those who wish to avoid chemicals and injections, yet still want a youthful looking face, there is a method for a natural face lift.

Cost is often a factor in deciding which method to choose, so make sure that you get all the facts before going ahead. Surgery is the most expensive at around 3000/$6000, this doesn’t include the costs you may have after the operation. Recovery time can be quite long as well but the results do last a long time. With non-surgical face lifting, there is little or no recovery time but you will normally have to go for repeat treatments. Any body who is troubled with minor skin blemishes may find that some methods will be able to diminish them. Here are the different methods available so you can judge for yourself which may be right for you.

Botox is the one everybody has heard of and it has been chosen by many millions of men and women worldwide. It is injected into certain muscles which then relax or get paralysed and so smooth out any lines in the skin. Because the muscles are paralysed, they cannot move and so cannot produce wrinkles. It has been cleared for cosmetic use in 2002 so any long term effects are not known. Injections cost around 100/$200 per shot so the total cost will depend on how many you want or require. It is quick and effective, the initial swelling normally goes down after an hour or so. The effects can last anywhere from three to six months and sometimes longer, depending on the individual. Anybody taking anti- biotics should wait until they have finished the course before using this procedure.

Possibly the second most popular option is the collagen injections, also know as fillers. This requires collagen to be injected directly into the skin to fill out the wrinkles from under the skin. It is also used to give those full pouting lips. Although collagen is a natural part of the skin, there are many different types available. Those taken from your own body, from the thighs or abdomen have the least risk of any allergic reaction. There are other types, some natural and some are synthetic. The synthetic methods are either a form of hyaluric acid, which naturally occurs in the skin, or a gel. The costs will vary, according to the type of filler you use, and you will need two to four treatments per year.

Another form of non-surgical face lifting is the skin resurfacing technique which includes laser treatment, microdermabrasion, chemical peel and dermabrasion, although some more radical forms of dermabrasion is considered to be a surgical operation. These methods all rely on the removal of the surface layers of the skin to reduce the appearance of aging. They work well with light wrinkles and lines but not with deep ones which can only be affected with the full dermabrasion which usually requires a full anaesthetic. The costs are between 75/$150 to over 1000/$2000, depending on the treatment but the results should last for a year or so.

You will also find a wide variety of face lift creams on the market that are said to reduce the signs of ageing. Each has it’s own particular formula that will work on your skin. There is no right one, only the one that works best for your particular type of skin. You may have to try a couple before you find the one you are completely satisfied with.

When it comes to the safest, cheapest and probably most longest lasting type of non-surgical face lift, you cannot beat a set of well designed facial exercises. The key here is well designed as there many different facial exercises around and some may even increase your wrinkles. Ideally look for those that are isometric as they really improve the muscle and skin tone of your face. There is a misconception that they take a long time to do. Not really so. The first stage may require some time and effort but after a couple of weeks you only need a couple of minutes per day and that can be dome when you apply your skin cream. This natural face lift method can also be beneficial both pre and post operation if you are determined to have some other form of lifting as it gets your face into better shape for any further work.

Whenever contemplating any type of cosmetic face lift, it is advisable to consult your doctor first even for the non-surgical face lifts as they nearly all require some form of work to your facial tissues. Chose a good cosmetic surgery, one that is a member of a recognised trade association. Ask amongst your friends to get one that they have used and trust. It may be worth paying a little more for your peace of mind.
