Implementing Ideas Is The Only Way You Are Going To Make Money

My good friend Armand Morin gave me a piece of advice that I am going to share with you.
Before Armand shared this with me I had been unable to reaped any financial reward from the large quantity of information I had gathered from various mentors online. This advice helped to completely change my financial future.
Once I received a little piece of advice, it set me on the right path and that, in turn, helped me generate over $111,000 worth of revenue in less than eight weeks on one project.
This is what Armand told me -
I was excited because I had started to generate all kinds of new product ideas, new service ideas, that I wanted to package together.
I carried this excitement into a meeting I had with Armand. I opened up my lap top and loaded my Mind Mapping software and began explaining all my new ideas.
Right in front of me he grabbed my mouse, closed my Mind Mapping software and said, “Stop right there.”
What he said then is very powerful. Write this down. He said, “Focus on the implementation. Stu, you’re only going to make money on the ideas that you implement, now the thousand of ones your think of.” It is all about the implementation.
People aren’t going to buy just an idea. They are more likely to buy something they can see, feel, hear or experience. If you are only thinking about the money, that won’t help either because it is the finished idea that will bring the sales, not just the idea.
A great example of this was when John Reese launched Traffic Secrets. He sent physical copies to a targeted list of high-level affiliates well in advance. Why did he send them physical copies? Because when people see your ideas in a finished form, they clearly see the value that it provides versus trying to describe it to them.
You only make money when you have a finished product. So focusing on the implementation is absolutely crucial for everybody who is reading this article because until you complete that idea, you can’t make any money.
A good example of that, when I was there with Armand, he booted up his laptop, went on the Internet, and he said, “I want to show you something,” and he showed me a couple of his sites that he has products selling on, and he said, “Okay. With that in mind, I want to buy what you have right now, Stu. I want to buy it. Where do I go to get it?”
I had no answer for him. Why? All of the steps I should have completed inorder to make money online I didn’t have completed. I didn’t have my big idea completed into a product. I didn’t have my completed products and services up for sale. I didn’t have any way for people to opt-in for more information, any auto responders set up, I didn’t have a sales letter. I didn’t even have my shopping cart set up. No where could people buy from me.
That was a complete eye opener because I learned in that instant that it doesn’t matter how many ideas you have, you only make money on the sale of the finished idea.
I hope that this got everyone reading this thinking about what they can do to get their product/service out there to your customer base.
Your business won’t grow or make any money from ideas. Even if it is the greatest idea in the world, until it is implemented no money can be made!

This next one is a great one because it puts you in the shoes of other people, someone who is thinks completely different than you.

Here are some examples: How would my mother solve this problem? How would my competitor solve this problem? The great thing about this question is it forces you to think from different perspectives.
These questions amongst others have opened up all kinds of opportunities for me, and they’ve been the oxygen - the lifeblood - of my career and the success that I’m experiencing.
I’ll show you an example of how I used this method of creative questioning to help me.
I decided to become a professional speaker as soon as I was done University. My focus was speaking to college and high school students about the topic of creativity. I focused on creativity because with it I was able to move from a first year failure in University to graduating being named Most Outstanding Male with straight A’s. I changed a lot between how I did things in first year to my last year, and I credit a lot of it to learning something I had become very passionate about, creative thinking.
Being a professional speaker and building a profitable speaking business was two things I didn’t know anything about though.
I went to and joined an organization called CAPS, which is The Canadian Association for Professional Speakers.
It was at one of the local meetings were I asked a gentleman, who was doing very well with his speaking career, “What did I have to do to get to where he was?” He replied by saying, “I’ll give you three things to get started on. Once you finish those come back and I’ll give you some more.” He said it would be simple, so I said, “Okay.”
He said, “Number one, you need to join CAPS. You need to surround yourself with like-minded people, who are working in your industry and can help you grow.” I said, “Okay.”
In order to join CAPS it cost $200, which at that time was a squeeze. Thinking back on it I remember paying for it on payments in order to be able to do it. I did number though, I joined CAPS.
He continued saying, “The second thing you have to do is get to the CAPS National Conference” At this point I thought to myself, ‘How am I going to do that? The conference that year was being held on the other side of Canada. With the seminar being pretty expensive itself, plus traveling costs, it was really expensive. I had no money, so everything at that point was expensive for me
It was at this point that I knew I had to start asking myself some creative questions. I knew I didn’t have much, but I began looking at what I did have, or could do that perhaps someone else might be interested in.
One thing I that I had at that point was time itself. Because I had just started my speaking business I wasn’t speaking very often, so I knew I had some time I could offer.
Then I started to say, “Okay, how could I use my time to benefit somebody else?” From that question I came up with a campaign, and I called it Help Stu Be Like You.
This is how I used my creative thinking. The largest chapter of CAPS in my province consisted of about 75 people. I went to one of their meetings and asked if I could have 30 seconds in front of them.
No one had asked for this before. I asked a question that got everyone’s hands in the air. It was, “How many of your, at one point, started off as a speaker with no experience?”
“Awesome,” I said. “Keep your hand up if you have ever attended the CAPS national conference before.” Seventy-five percent of the group kept their hands up.
I continued, “Of those who have been able to attend the conference, how many of you believe it would be beneficial for a new speaker, with no experience to be able to go?” Everyone kept their hands up.
I said, “Great. Because I am somebody with zero speaking experience that you just said needs to get out to that CAPS national conference.”
I continued by saying, “But, here is where I run into difficulty. I don’t have any money, just time. Here is the exchange I am willing to make and I hope you are to. ‘Help Stu Be Like You’ is a campaign that I have created.” At this point I handed out a small flyer to everyone in the audience. It basically was a 8×6 black and white flyer that I had printed at home on 8-1/2 x 11 sheets and cut down the middle to save on costs.
I began to explain my campaign. “This is what I am willing to do. Anything that you as speakers don’t like doing, don’t have time to do, or just need an extra pair of hands to do, I will do it. Sales calls, creating sales letters, licking stamps, anything. I will even come to your house and cut your lawn or wipe your baby’s bottom if that’s what you want me to do. All I’m asking in return is a financial contribution of your choice.”
Looking out at everyone I could see some people’s wheels were just turning thinking, “Oh wow. This is amazing. I can get all those little jobs I hate doing for cheap!”
I finished up by saying, “Whatever you don’t like doing I will do, in exchange for an financial contribution of your choice. Everything I make from this campaign will go directly towards getting me out to the CAPS national conference.”
As soon as I finished explaining it, a gentleman at the back of the room stood up, and he said, “Stu, I will pay for your entrance fee to the seminar.” Boom. Just like that. Half of my costs basically taken care of.
Immediately following that, another gentleman stood up and he said, “Stu, and I will pay for the cost to get you out there.” Boom, boom. Eighty-five percent of all of my expenses were taken care of just like that.
My friends, it’s all about being creative.
By asking myself that creative question, I was able to come up with a solution that got me out to the conference and my entrance fee paid for. By the time I got there it had turned into a big story, the national CAPS publication had written a story about me and I had all kinds of people coming up to me asking me questions.
Always remember to explore your creativity and may ideas come to you when you need them the most.
