What Is The Best Learn German Software

October 4, 2008

For those thinking about learn a new language, German isn’t the first one that trips off the tongue. Despite this, you may be surprised to know that German is a widely spoken language throughout the world, especially in central and eastern Europe.

Obviously it is spoken in Germany that has one of the largest populations in Europe. It is also used in countries like Austria and Switzerland. You will find that many of Germany’s neighboring countries speak German too even though it is not the official language. This trend spreads to many countries even as far as the Baltic and Balkan nations. This is the result of economic and historical reasons.

It is a good language to have if you want to travel to any of these countries and not resort to speaking English when you get there.

It is also a useful language to have for business. Germany is a strong trading partner with countries all over the world. It is particularly strong in the automotive industry, IT and the financial services sectors. People in these field could get increased career opportunities if they spoke German.

Of course if you want to learn the German language by using learning German software then it may not be a straightforward task to select the right course for your needs. There are many out there and you might find yourself going round in circles trying to get the right one.

It can be difficult to give a direct answer to what is the best software course because, despite the software itself, the individuals needs and learning style are most important. And only the individual knows the answer to this.

Having said this, if you are going for a learn German software course, you should think about getting something that teaches you how to read, write, speak and understand German. These are the key skills to learning a language.

Of course, learning all these skills takes quite a commitment in effort and time so your objective might not be this all encompassing.

For instance, you may have plans to vacation in Berlin for the summer and only want to be able to communicate. You want to concentrate of speaking and comprehension without worrying about reading or writing.

So the point is that you have to understand your objectives first and foremost.

After that, you want to understand how the software teaches you the language. Some software chooses to simply tell you what to do without explaining how it is done. The idea behind this is that we pick up languages intuitively and by hearing a language enough it will start to sink in.

In effect this is like the immersion process of learning a language. Immersion is basically about living in a country that only speaks the language. You are motivated to learn it to get by and you are constantly exposed to it so it will eventually sink in.

Immersion is pretty much agreed to be the best way to learn German. So software that can replicate this method would seem to be a good product. Whilst this is true to some extent, immersion is successful only by being exposed to the language often.

Thus the method is only truly effective, if the software is used often or constantly to replicate this immersion process. This often fails because people can’t spend enough time using the software around their regular life that involves speaking English.

Other courses are more traditional in the sense that they tell you what to say and then explain why or how this works. So they will tell you what to say in a situation and then explain the rules or grammar of what was said or the meaning of the vocabulary.

This may seem like a difficult way to learn too but understand why something works, like grammar, can give a person confidence and speak to more people. Speaking is half the battle when it comes to becoming fluent. Speaking to German people is like a practical lesson once you have the confidence to initiate a conversation.

September 4, 2008

by Kyle Richey

If you have had a faulty memory occasionally or even often, you’re not alone. Many people do. Perhaps you have driven home from the store, only to remember something that you should’ve gotten but didn’t. Or perhaps you’ve forgotten important dates, such as anniversaries or birthdays.

It’s at that point that you realise another year has gone by and you have totally fogotten your anniversary again. If you have had this experience before then it’s time for you to look at making an improvement to your memory. By following a few easy training techniques it will be easy for you to make a dramatic improvement to your memory and never have to worry again about forgetting things.

Your memory utilizes several different categories for retention. These are: names and faces, factual information, lists, dates and events, and so on. Each of these areas utilizes different techniques and tools that you can also use for memory improvement.

If your one of these people that can never remember someones name there are several techniques that you can use. The most commonly used one by people around the world is to associate a rhyme with their name. For example, if your out at a party and get introduced to a new person named Tony. The first thing you want to do is make sure you repeat their name once or twice in conversation. “Hi Tony, pleased to meet you.” This will help to confirm their name in your short term memory.

Of course you’ll probably want to make sure you get it into your long term memory as well, which is where the rhyme comes in. If the person’s name is Nate, think about Nate the great, and each time you see that person, make sure that you repeat the little rhyme again to yourself. The more you do this, the more you’ll be able to lock it right into your long term memory so you won’t forget it. So, this is one great way to help you out with memory improvement.

You can also use the rhyme you choose to associate that person’s name (or the rhyme itself) with that person’s appearance. For example, if Tony has a long mane of hair, this means that he can be associated with a “pony” in that way. This will help you recognize the person you meet in the future so that you know his or her name on the spot.

You can also make a word, saying, sentence, etc., out of the first letters of a list of things you need to remember. For example, if you have a grocery list and you need to remember the following:

Lollies
Bread
Chocolate
Apples
Ketchup

Take a look at the list that you have, and then rearrange it to make word, such as follows.

B read L ollipops A pples C hocolate K etchup

Now you can see that the first letters in the list spell the word, “Black.” All you have to remember when you go shopping is the word “Black,” and you’ll be able to easily remember the things that are on your list, since they start with the letters of this word.

Once you learn all these easy little memory improvement tools you’ll be able to have a fantastic memory in virtually no time at all.

Reap the Rewards of Home Schooling

August 11, 2008

by Danise B. Keasda

As parents, we all know the importance of a top quality education for our children. It does not take a special education degree to know and understand just how important schooling is for our children. Now, you can become your child’s teacher and reap the rewards of home schooling! In the past few years, a strong movement has occurred in the home school endeavor. Parents everywhere are joining together and enjoying educating their children at home.

Throughout this article, I will explain why receiving an education at home is important as well as the many benefits associated with this trend. Education received in the home is considered to be extremely beneficial in that all members of the family take a productive, active role in developing the skills and knowledge of the child and/or children in the home. As a home school parent of two, I have had firsthand experience in witnessing these benefits.

The first benefit to educating children in this manner is that it strengthens the bond between all of the family members that are involved. While most families are often separated and going different directions due to responsibilities both inside and outside of the home, however, when a family begins to educate their children at home, the focus suddenly shifts to the education.

In the homeschool family, it is common to see that the attention is placed on the education of the child, or children in the home. Schedules put the educational and moral upbringing of the child or children as priority. The bond of the entire family unit is actually strengthened.

As a home school parent, you are able to customize the lessons to suit the general moral of the home, as well as to tailor to the overall needs of the child or children. You have the ability to tailor the education that you provide to your child based on the morals and values that your family has. Many families see this as extremely beneficial when it comes to weighing the pros and cons of a home school education.

There are many different ways that you can teach your children from the comfort of your home. You can integrate the use of poetry, puppets, blocks, art, music, and more! In addition to this, if you have specific religious values that you want your child to learn, you can also incorporate these lessons into your day to day activities. You and your child can experience a lot of flexibility when it comes to scheduling, lesson plans, and activities in general when home schooling!

The third benefit to home schooling is that it takes children away from the traditional brick and mortar schools and puts them in a place where they can learn creatively through real life applications. Most children who are in a traditional classroom are limited to learning from books and workbooks.

Many parents enjoy the home school approach to education because of the fact that they can consistently change the pace, the setting, and the way that they teach. Children can learn in ways that are most appropriate to them and the unique needs that they have.

Home schooling is a wonderful way for parents to take an active role in the education of their child. Many parents have come to cherish this wonderful opportunity. There are many different resources that can be used in the home to assist in educational development. These resources include that of internet media, computer technology, television, science experiments, and more. This is an extremely flexible approach to stimulating the senses and minds of our children.

If you want to provide an enriching, educational program that is specifically tailored to the special needs of your child, this is a very beneficial approach. Check out the home schooling opportunities in your state today!

Controlling forms for ISO 9001 QMS

July 29, 2008

by Mark Kaganov

One of the controversial issues with interpretation of ISO 9001:2000 Standard and others is control of forms. Many companies, by some reason, treat forms differently than documents, leaving them not controlled. Per ISO 9001:2000, element 4.2.3, “Documents required by the quality management system shall be controlled.” Let’s see if a form qualifies to be a “document” that shall be controlled.

Forms and tables are frequently used as lower-level documents. Very often, it is not necessary to write a traditional instruction with the purpose, scope and instructions if a simple table is sufficient to provide these instructions. One of the typical non-conformities that companies get during audits of their quality management systems is against forms that are not part of the documentation system.

Repeatedly I discuss this issue with my clients. Regularly I hear the same answer “This is just a form.” Honestly, I do not understand this! Why should a form be different from any other instruction or a procedure? How would one know that we need a form if it is not referenced in our QMS documentation structure? If forma are not managed by your documentation system, and decide to modify them, how can you be confident that you make changes to the latest revision? Will be difficult What is a form? A quick quiz will help answer this question. If we have a list of directions telling us to:

- draw a two-column table

- enter your company name into the first column

- enter your company?s URL into the second column

Hardly anybody will argue that this three-line direction is an instruction to make and complete this form. So if this is an instruction, it “shall” be controlled, right?

Now, let’s assume, somebody gave us a two-column table. We also were asked to fill it out. The first column is titled “You company name” and the second column “Company URL”. I bet, most of us would enter our name in the first column and our phone number in the second. Does it mean that we treated the table as an “instruction”? We did!

These two examples, demonstrate that our first three-line instruction in English (that needs to be controlled), serves the same function, resulting in the same output, as the second form. Therefore, the form as an instruction and “shall”: be controlled as well.

It seams to me that misunderstanding concerning forms is because forms serve two purposes. Blank forms are short directions written in tabular language. When a form is completed, it becomes a record. Not like instructions, records are controlled by different means. Let’s realize this difference and treat not completed forms as any other document controlled by our documentation management procedure. There are a couple of simple tests you may take when you are tempted to use a form that has not been assigned a part number:

- If you created a form and found it had been changed, would you like to know who did it and why?

- If you changed your form, would you like personnel to use the most resent revision?

- If you were on vacation, would you like folks to be able to find your form just by finding a reference to it?

Just one “Yes” answer to the above questions indicates that your form perhaps is a candidate for a document control.

How To Unlock Your Psychic Abilities

July 29, 2008

by Rosalind Traycek

The majority of people will live out their lives without realising the powers that are deep within them, powers that are able to change lives. There are increasing numbers of people who are seeking to develop their own psychic powers, this is resulting in an increase in the planet’s spiritual consciousness.

Paranormal experiences will happen to almost everybody at some point in their life, they may call this clairvoyance, precognition, or telepathy, it all points to Psychic abilities. These psychic abilities can arise at any point in a person’s life, and are often induced by a physical or psychological injury.

Even if you think you have no psychic abilities at all, rest assured that you do have latent psychic powers, and these can be refined through practice and guidance. There is considerable evidence that psychic powers are inherited, quite often being passed down through the female line.

If you are thinking about using your psychic abilities in a professional manner you need to be aware that you will require much more than psychic skills to make a living. It will take time to build up respectable clientele and to be able to arrange enough consultations to pay the same as the standard 9 to 5 job. The most effective way of expanding its clientele will be through word of mouth and this can take a lot of time.

If you are thinking of developing your psychic abilities purely for your own benefit and that of your friends and family, you will be able to relax and take your time with your training. It is never a good idea to make earning money your only motivation for developing your psychic skills.

There are many people out there who offer a free psychic reading, both online and over the phone, to attract new customers. These readings may be automated, and therefore will not be as good as a face-to-face reading with a medium who has a good reputation.

Psychic development initiates profound mental and emotional changes, before you begin a new psychic training you need to have some form of spiritual grounding. It is very important that you learn as much as possible as knowledge leads to experience and wisdom. It is always good to find a spiritual guide or mentor to help you at the beginning of your journey.

Your intuition is one of the most powerful psychic tools available to you, and you should follow this at all times regardless of whereabouts on the pathway you are. Your intuition is often heard as an inner voice, and you must listen to it at all times, although as with all psychic powers you must consider the consequences of your actions.

Green Cleaning; What’s the difference?

July 29, 2008

by Bruce Hilsen

Why are green products better for us? How do they work? Exactly what are Green Cleaning Products? What is a Micro-Fiber Cloth? Are there different kinds? Why would a person use one?

These are all questions many consumers have. The rage or trend these days is all about GREEN cleaning. We all have to do our part to help save the environment, and at the same time protect our health. With many products making GREEN claims how do we to know what is truly a GREEN product and how do we properly use it?

The first step is the product itself. Learn how to read the label. Look for a product that has EPA Approval. It’s not the manufacturer telling you the product works, it’s the federal government. But how do we learn the proper use of these green products? Do they need special maintainence procedures? Do we recyle these products?

One firm, WorldWide Oxide based out of Minneapolis, MN partnered with the Green Clean Institute to offer a variety of Green Cleaning courses designed to educate the end line user of these new products. .

These education courses are applicable to everyone from the typical homemaker, to the person that cleans or works for a janitorial service. There are even supervisor courses, mold and mildew courses, and building maintenance courses.

Learn how to identify the quality of a micro-fiber cloth. Be able to distinguish between the good quality items and those of lesser quality. Students will also learn not only what type of Green cleaner to use for a certain situation, but why they are using it.

These courses are all reasonably priced and designed to be consumer friendly. Knowledge is king, and with it you can create for yourself a better life. We have all used chemicals for many years that are not good for us. We know better now. It’s time to educate ourselves on proper product usage, both in the home and workplace.

A California Homeschool Program: Just What Is The Law?

July 29, 2008

by Jeff Safin

One of the harder states in which to start a home school is California. Rumors have flown in the past that home schooling is illegal in California, but that is not the case. Home schooling is legal in California, however the requirements are a little bit on the strict side, depending on how one reads them.

In the state of California, if you set up a home school for your children you will be required to follow an accredited and recognized school curriculum, also known as an ISP which stands for independent study program.

Being capable of teaching

There have also been some rumors about the fact that California home scholars should have a California teaching license in order to be considered a qualified teacher for the students that they are teaching.

I think there can be no argument that having a certified teaching license can only be a good thing, but again contrary to what the rumors might have you think, in California the law simply states that the teacher must be capable of teaching.

Evidently, this statement can be interpreted in a very vague sense. In this way, home schooling has a sort of vague quality in California.

In the public and privately run schools of today the decision on whether a teacher is capable of teaching or not will lie at the hands of the people in charge of the school.

But the process for home schooling in California is different, since the parent and the teacher are very often one and the same.

Setting up a home school in California

A good thing to do right away is to officially declare yourself a private school. Doing so will sort out a lot of questions early on, even if you only have one child to homeschool this is recommended.

Another option is to simply sign your child up at an area public school, but register for an Independent Study Program that you will be responsible for implementing for your child at home.

In either of these two paths, you should be able to open up your own home school in California without too much red tape.

The teacher

Obviously a tutor will be necessary in a homeschool. In most homeschools It is one of the parents who takes it on their selves to fill this role, but it doesn’t have to be that way if you don’t want it to be. You can pay a tutor to come to your home and tutor your children.

A tutor who is a parent does not have to hold a California teaching certification, but should be, above, capable of teaching, even if the person doesn’t even have a high school diploma.

If the tutor is an adult hired by the parents to be the primary teacher, most parents opening home schools in California understandably demand that the tutor have a proper teaching certification.

There is no doubt that setting up and putting into practice a Californian home school is going to require a lot of work and dedication on your part, but the rewards of a better education for your children are more than worthwhile.

College admissions: What You Need to Know

July 29, 2008

by Kelsey Brennan

Most students and their parents worry about getting into college, and worry more about getting into a good college. Many people have their own idea as to what colleges look for in potential students and how college admissions decide on who gets to attend their school. Of course, what type of student you are will influence what worries you most about getting into college.

This is considered to influence about 35% to 50% of their decision, but also includes what courses you took and how well you did in those courses.

And yes, they do look at whether or not you took difficult courses and how well you handled them, they will check to see if your grades improved during high school, as well as whether or not you let your grades slide a little during your senior year.

But around 25 to 40% of their admissions decision is based on how well you did in tests. Both the ACT and SAT test are used to judge applicants because they demonstrate skills like problem solving, reading and other basic skills.

This is one reason why SAT test preparation is vital if you want to do well and improve your SAT test score. If you have been active in community services or activities, then be sure to include that information when applying.

Approximately 5 to 20% of a college’s decision may be based on your activities and accomplishments while in high school, believing that if you were a leader in high school, then you are likely to continue to be so in college.

College admissions may also look at essays and recommendations to learn things that SATS tests are not able to tell them. They want to know what is important to you and discover your greatest strengths and weaknesses.

However, the bottom line is that to get into any college you need good marks and taking SAT preparation classes, along with practice SATs tests improves your chances of making a much higher grade. College admissions tell us that high GPA’s and good SAT scores will get a lot more attention than average scores. Taking AP (advanced placement) courses shows them that you are serious about your education and that will get you extra attention.
