Answering Emails Is Vital To An eBay Business
July 29, 2008
It’s really shocking how many eBay sellers can’t answer a simple email. Potential buyers are asking them for more information and it takes them a week to answer the question. Then, they wonder why their eBay business is failing.
To put it bluntly, you will never succeed on eBay if you offer horrible communication. If you can’t handle it, don’t bother starting a business (of any kind).
Some people treat business emails, like they do personal emails. Personal emails can wait. That’s what yahoo and hotmail accounts are for.
If you are working and you receive an email in regards to your business. put whatever you’re doing on hold. Answer the email. The person will be so impressed that you took the time answer the email so quickly.
Doing this shows great professionalism. It also shows that truly care about their question or the problem they might be having.
What’s really shocking is the sellers who don’t respond to an email even thought he person is basically telling them that they are going to buy their product. They just need to a little bit more information on it.
For instance, if somebody emails you asking what the combined shipping cost would be if they bought product A and Product B. That’s an example of a buying question. Don’t stall. Drop whatever it is you may be doing and answer it. Don’t give them time change their mind. You want to strike while the iron is hot!
It also works for dissatisfied customers. Let’s say you ship somebody the wrong item. It happens to all of us at one time or another. Then the buyer sends you an email and he doesn’t exactly sound too pleased.
The terrible eBay sellers would just want to deal with this. They’d much rather avoid or postpone an email response to an angry email. The great sellers, on the other hand though, answer it right away. It always calms down the buyer because he knows that his problem was acknowledged and the seller will try to remedy the situation.
Buying Tickets On eBay - Getting The Genuine Article
June 18, 2008
Is a big event coming up soon and you are having troubles finding tickets? If so, you might want to consider looking to eBay as a resource for finding tickets to your favorite events, concerts, sports games, and other ticketed events. However, the one thing you want to be aware of when using an avenue such as eBay to purchase event tickets is that not everyone is being honest.
Therefore, before you go handing over your money, you need to make sure that you are buying from a seller who is honest. Plus you need to make sure that they are going to be sending out the genuine article and they are providing you with what you are looking for when it comes to seating. There are a number of steps that you can take which can help to ensure that you get what you have paid for.
Making Sure The Tickets You Get Are Genuine
The first thing you want to do is check out the seller. EBay offers a great seller feedback program and rating program that will help you in deciding if this is the seller for you. Look at their history, have they sold tickets before? Look at their feedback; were they prompt and honest with their buyers? Did buyers get what they paid for? This is why the feedback system is designed for. You want to make sure that you are purchasing from someone who has a feedback with an overall rating of 97% to 100%. One or two bad reviews amongst hundreds is not necessary a sign of bad things to come.
The description is something that should immediately tell you if it is the genuine article or not. Along with the seller providing details of when the event happens, they should be providing you with details about the event itself and where within the event location where the seats are situated. You may also find that they tell you the venue name and in some cases they may even provide an interior map of the venue which clearly shows where the seats on the tickets you are purchasing are located.
It is important that you know what you would be expected to pay for these tickets. Most people are not allowed by law to sell any tickets they have for more than they were originally brought for. So do your homework and carry out some research in relation to the event, the venue where it is being held and know exactly what someone would have originally paid for the tickets before you put in your bid.
If you feel something isn’t right or need to find out more then do not hesitate and contact the seller. EBay has a great way that allows you to contact the seller before placing a bid if you have any questions that need answering.
Some sellers will chose to upload a digital or scanned photograph of the actual tickets. In some cases, it will be accompanied by a receipt showing proof of purchase or some other avenue of authentication. This is ideal, but not always provided, except in the case of tickets that are high priced.
It is important that you trust your instincts as well and if something doesn’t feel right, then it probably isn’t. Finally it is crucial that you use a form of payment that you trust such as PayPal or a credit card when making that final purchase. The great thing about PayPal is that they offer you as facility known as Buyer Protection, which means that you are protected should something happen to the tickets before you actually get them.
