Posted by: | CommentsI come from a large family and we all live under exactly the same roof. You’d think a family this huge would most likely bicker all of the time. Definitely not in our case. We’re really close and a particularly supporting family. Every day whenever we get together for a meal it’s as though it’s a get together with close family members having a bash. With such a lot of people around at all times, there’s always lots of food. There are fifteen people living under the same roof and its not even including the youngsters.
I share my room with 2 other siblings. Of us three I’m the youngest. Financially, my parents are really rich and we don’t really have to struggle to afford anything. The one disadvantage is the requirement to share rooms. My grandma uses this philosophy that sharing rooms with each of your siblings will aid you to build an improved bond with them. Posted by: | CommentsAs a safety professional, I am amazed at how many accidents occur because people are unwilling to take proper precautions to protect themselves. The same people who will wear UV protective clothing when they go swimming or spend a lot of time out in the sun will forget entirely to wear safety clothing when they are on the job!
A lot of people think that OSHA clothing is silly. They don’t consider that it saves lives. The ironic thing is that newbies are much more likely to wear protective clothes than their more experienced coworkers.
Although they are more at risk of accidents than experienced workers, these newcomers are actually less at risk for fatalities or serious injuries because of the protective clothing that they wear!
Once workers get more experience at their jobs, they tend to remove the protective clothes because either they are uncomfortable, or because it is seen as excessive. Sometimes it is just a matter of macho attitude The desire to show off by taking risks. Either way, without the right protective clothing you can easily become a victim of what could otherwise be a harmless mistake.
It is baffling how many places I have seen people leave off protective clothing. Some of the most highly educated professionals I know leave off lab clothes when going into a chemical laboratory. I have seen chemists working with highly dangerous chemicals while refusing to even wear gloves! They will wear some of the most necessary protective clothing such as chemical masks, but when it comes to gloves they will trust in their own dexterity to stop something potentially fatal from spilling on their hands.
This is idiocy as far as I am concerned. Protective clothing is not that expensive, and furthermore it is often supplied by the workplace. Even if clothing protection were only to work in 5% of cases, there would still be a 5% lower risk of accidental death. It seems worth a little discomfort to me!
I have become so fed up that the situation that I have begun to make public service announcements about the importance of industrial clothing. It is so tragic to see, over and over again, good people dying because of a simple lapse of judgment.
I feel like if people knew how important protective clothing was and were reminded about it more frequently, they would begin to wear it. All I can do is try to tell them about the facts.
Making Costumes: How To Design Your Own Halloween Costume

Start by deciding exactly what you would like to be for Halloween. Once you have made this decision your next step would be to collect the necessary materials to design the perfect costume. Be sure and allow yourself enough time to work on making costumes, that way if you end up missing an important item you still have time to go out and pick it up. Angel – For an angel costume you would need some white material for the body of the outfit. You can purchase some thin, easy to work with wire from most any craft department store. If you want to make the hat yourself you can do so by using cardboard to form the wide brim pointy design and glue the black cloth to the outer surface of the cardboard.

Pipe cleaners sewed to a strap for support make wonderful whiskers, or just use a makeup pencil to color them on. Ears can be made by sewing together material with just enough stuffing to give them shape and body. Sewing wire along the edges of the ears will allow them to be shaped into different positions. To make a tail for a cat or dog you simply need to cut out and sew together a piece of material the correct length. Next, add the stuffing to give it the depth it needs then sew it onto the rest of the costume. A big ball of cotton glued onto a bunny outfit makes a perfect Peter Cotton Tail.

Orignally from the South Bronx, James “Sexer” Rodriguez began his interests in art at the age of 6. Cartoons were his first attempt at the arts. By the age of 10 his artwork was on display at the old Gimbels Department store. Pursuing his dreams to become a professional artist, he attended the High School of Art & Design where he studied Commercial Art. He later continued education at F.I.T. and Parsons.
His teenage years as a graffiti artist on the streets and subways of New York quickly challenged and inspired his artistic future. His love for art can be appreciated in his urban art flavor which throughout the years have transcended from trains and murals, to canvases.
The ability to combine life experiences through realistic rendition and graffiti allows for his maximum expression.

In 1979, I began my career as an artist in the South Bronx the place where I was born and raised. My first creations were what some would call awful, others would call a crime, and what my peers at the time and I, called graffiti. In 1982 I was included in the group exhibition at Fashion Moda New York City, titled, “The South Bronx Show.” My work stayed on exhibition there for three years, with other artists such as, Lady Pink, Tracy 168, Daze, Crash, TKid, and A-one. My education was in textile design from the Fashion Institute of Technology which would lead to a very difficult and demanding field where I designed clothing for singers such as, Janet Jackson, Anita Baker, all the way to DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. I created a line of children’s clothing at this time that I sold throughout the USA.
During 1987 I also worked on a variety of projects including; the backdrop for Steampipe Alley, MTV, and a giant backdrop for DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince’s last tour.
In 1992 and 93 I was filmed for a documentary called “Thie food in ThieLand” and “We don’t play” in this same year My art has been exhibited in “Space Time Light Gallery”. In 1997 and 1998 at Sotheby’s auction house in New York in their yearly employee art show, also at Guernsey’s Graffiti Auction in New York, which contained the works of Haring and Basquiat at the time.
In July 2000 I exhibited at a group show at “American Vision 145 Gallery”, featuring artist Henry Charfont, Rom Rios, Duro, and Zephyr, more of my graffiti peers, Bread and Roses Gallery group show in March 2003, and Bottom Feeders Studio Gallery in April 2003. In 2004 I was in a benefit auction at Gallery I-20 . In 2005 I’m once again filmed for 2 documentary’s, 1 by EAC called “From the spray can to the canvas” and the 2nd produced by MTV at this time not titled. My work has changed over the years. The change has occurred because of several unique reasons. The most important being the thought of the process, in combination with precise attention to color and an open channel feeling in my heart each and every time I sit down to work. From beginning to present, each and every one of my works is different from the one before, you can easily see the transformation from graffiti artist to something a little more different, maybe a little controversial, maybe a bit a conformist.
Both Sexer and Zimad are originally from the South Bronx, and began their interest in art at a young age. “My first creations were what some would call awful, others would call a crime, and what my peers at the time and I, called graffiti,” writes Zimad.
Sexer and Zimad are still recognized as two of the most prolific graf artists on the East coast. Both have gone on to exhibit in galleries, and their designs have graced billboards, and ad campaigns all over the country. Now we can add apparel to that list.
