Although the skin problem known as acne is often something that teenagers suffer from, today there are many adults as well who are suffering from this particular skin condition. But rather than using more traditional western treatments for helping to improve the condition of their skin and remove the acne more and more people are choosing to try natural acne remedies instead.

In this article we offer some different natural remedies which you may wish to try and which are unlikely to cause the kinds of side effects associated with more traditional treatments for acne. In most cases these treatments not only treat the skin condition but also what is the underlying cause for the problem.

Treatment 1 - Aloe Vera - You can use this in either gel or juice form and it contains antibiotic properties, which not only treat the infection but also help to heal the scarring that some people may suffer from. You will find that you need to use this both in the morning and in the evening for as long as it takes for the skin condition to improve. In some cases it may take more than six months before you see a real difference.

Treatment 2 - Apple Cider Vinegar - This is a very effective cleanser for the skin and should be applied directly to the face using a cotton ball. Not only does it help to remove dirt and bacteria from the pores but also helps to remove any excess oil and so bring the skin’s pH level back into balance. If you are looking for a quick way to treat this particular skin condition then it may be worth your while trying this remedy.

Treatment 3 - Cucumber - Although it is often used as a way of refreshing your eyes it is also ideal for treating acne. You can either use it in a form where it the cucumber has been peeled and then liquified before being applied to your skin directly, or you can drink the juice instead. If you choose to drink the cucumber juice you will need to do so four or five times each day for a week. The properties within this plant help to purify the blood and improve the way in which a person’s lymphatic system functions. Which results in their skin looking much clearer and cleaner.

Treatment 4 - Grapefruit Seed Extract - This particular plant extract contains very strong antimicrobial properties and so has very good disinfectant properties. To use this you need to combine it with water. Mix between 4 and 40 drops of the extract to 4 fluid ounces of water. Once mixed together you then apply the mixture directly to the affected area using a cotton ball of Q-tip between two and three times each day.

Treatment 5 - Tea Tree Oil - This is another very effective way of treating acne because like other natural remedies we have mentioned it contains some good antiseptic properties. These then help to remove the dirt and bacteria which can often exacerbate the problem of acne. But unlike some of the remedies we have mentioned do not expect to see results quickly this one does take some time to help treat the problem. But unlike some of the more common over the counter treatments available it helps the skin to retain moisture rather than drying it out.

Above we have provided you with a number of different acne natural remedies that you may want to consider trying. But a quick search of the internet and you will find plenty of other ones that are suitable for helping to treat what is now one of the most common skin ailments that people (young and old alike) can suffer from.
