Starting Your Landing Page

Posted by: Steve Blalock | Comments (0)
by Steve Blalock

Before you get started creating your landing page, you will need a number of things to a) make your offer actually have a point; and b) facilitate the creation of your landing page.

One thing you absolutely must have before you get started is an autoresponder. Without any autoresponder, you are tossing money in the garbage. Rather than creating a relationship with customers and potential customers ” and giving yourself the opportunity to attempt future upsales — you’re allowing them to leave and never return.

In addition to an autoresponder, you need to have an actual offer that people want to buy. You may want to develop a product, such as an ebook or a piece of software. If you don’t have the skills to do either, you can always hire a professional to do it for you through elance.com or guru.com. You will then either want to sell this product and attempt to get subscribers from your thank you page ” or you will want to get subscribers by offering the product for free (which is what many Internet marketers now do).

Another thing you need before you get started is a check out service. You may want to consider Google Check Out, Paypal, a Shopping Cart Service, Click Bank, Sale Flurry, or 2 Check Out. All of these services will allow you to make transactions quickly.

You also need a set of graphics, which includes a graphic header, a check out button, background wallpaper, and a half-decent picture of yourself. You can probably provide the picture of yourself, but you might want to hire a professional to do the rest.

The final item you will need before you can get started on your landing page is some way in which to create a realistic signature. Http://www.vletter.com is probably your best bet; but, if you’re on a budget, you may want to opt for simply using a wordprocessing program.

How to Taste Wine

Posted by: Ian Kleine | Comments (0)
by Ian Kleine

Wine testing is a very rewarding experience for those who glorify and for those who mine wine their life. However, it is not the simple matter of indulging your thirst and outright chugging the whole thing down like water. Wine should be treated like ambrosia: precious liquid that should be served and drunk sparingly and with utmost responsibility. Wine represents art, represents food and drink, represents happiness and culture. In short, wine represents the good things of life and possibly more.

There are a select number of ways to enjoy wine tasting and to get the best out of your money. But what are these steps? Try and follow these to make sure your wine tasting excursion doesn’t end up in a blunder or in a foul setting. Most wine newbies often leave and desist from taking on another wine excursion if they have had bad experiences with the first.

Firstly, observe the wine with a steady and sharp eye. Pour the wine into the glass and observe the coloration. Watch as it morphs and changes its intensity with every gentle swirl of your glass. Contrast the wine with the pure white color of a tablecloth, a napkin, or a piece of paper, to see the true essence of the wine.

Observe the lines and the patterns revolving around the glass. White wine becomes deeper, darker with age; while red wines soften, lose their sharp redness and turn a bit more brown. Sediments may develop over time, but these sediments are harmless, and if nothing more but simple nuisances. Swirling the wine could also help with catching preliminary odors that could be tell tale signs for spoiled, or re-corked wine.

You would know what re-corked wines would smell like especially after a good swirling. It has already lost its fruitiness, has an oxidized smell, and oftentimes, feels ‘rough’ to the tongue.

Whenever you read a general article about mortgages the term foreclosure is oftentimes accompanying it. This recession in the U.S. today has sacrificed the jobs of millions and caused unemployment to skyrocket. Millions are at risk of losing their homes right under their feet. The news doesn’t provide much comfort too. What can we do as Americans in this stressful declining mortgage market?

Webster states that mortgage is the pledging of your property to a creditor as security of a debt.Which in simple terms means buying your house through a bank via a loan, and if you default in payments the bank has the right to seize back the property. With having to pay back to the bank, there are legal litigations that have to be filed. The litigations state that if you default for a consecutive period of time the bank can then take ownership over your property. There are a few things we can do to cease the foreclosure on our own property. We can choose to refinance, apply for a reverse mortgage, or a loan modification.

Most people choose to refinance their home versus any other option. Millions of people refinance their property aspiring to get a lower yearly interest rate. When considering refinancing your property read all fine print with your contract and try to obtain a rate between 2-4%. Refinancing is supposed to drop the rate of interest you pay on your property yearly and therefore reduce your monthly mortgage rate.

Are you at least 62 years old, own your home, and have a low mortgage balance remaining on the home you reside in? Reverse mortgage will probably be the best avenue you can take. Reverse mortgages allow homeowners to change equity in their homes over to cash and pay off their mortgage all together. This home loan never has to be repaid and is tax free because it’s included as your yearly income. The only downside to reverse mortgage is the debt on home increases, equity diminishes, and the upfront costs and expenses can be pretty expensive.

A new trend in helping to solve the foreclosure dilemma is loan modifications. Loan modifications enable you to find an affordable mortgage payment for your situation. You negotiate terms on your current loan instead of having to reapply with different companies. Loan medications save time and money. In order to be able to obtain a loan modification there are a few standards that must be met. Loan modifications were put in place for people going through a financial hardship for example unemployment. The unemployed must provide proper documentation outlining the hardship, you must be at least three payments behind on your current mortgage, and have not filed a bankruptcy. If, you feel you may qualify for a loan modification contact your current lender or service owner for your property.

Through minimal research we have been able to provide you with 3 ways to solve your mortgage worries. But, we shouldn’t let this economy be our downfall as well. Stop the world from taking from you what’s rightfully yours, and explore all options with an open mind. The welfare of yourself and your family is at risk.

Midwest January

During the January thaw is a good time to start fighting common chickweed. It is in flower now having germinated in September and October. Soon it will be setting ripening seed. Walk across the lawn now pulling out the chickweed plants by hand while their fresh green leaves are conspicuous against the brown soil.

Protecting Shallow Planted Tulips and Narcissus

The long unseasonable fall experienced in the Midwest last year encouraged growth of tulips and narcissus. During February thaws they will begin to peek through the soil. Before they get nipped by frost, cover the bed with 2 or 3 inches of peatmoss or compost. Next fall plant the bulbs deeper.

Watering Evergreens

Even if rain and snow have fallen recently, it would be wise to check the soil under the evergreens. In many places last falls drought left the subsoil extremely dry. The evergreens require moisture during the winter.

Dormant Spraying

Dormant sprays can be applied whenever the temperature remains above freezing for at least twelve hours. If the trees are subjected to freezing temperatures less than twelve hours after application of the spray, they will be injured when the emulsion of oil and sulfur separates.

Starting Seed Indoors

Dont be tempted into starting seeds indoors unless a sunny window that can be kept fairly cool is available. But if you do have the right spot, you can start double petunias, Vinca rosea and other slow-growing annuals now. Dont start small-flowered petunias and marigolds and fast-growing plants until later.

Repotting Foliage Plants and Ferns

It’s time now to repot foliage plants and ferns, for soon the light will become stronger and they will start new growth. Also, the plants can stand more water and possibly some light fertilizer.

Timely Reminders

Apply fertilizers now, before the spring rush of garden work begins or even before the life cycle of mealy bugs start. Clean up the garden and destroy weed seeds at the surface as well as mealy bugs, and the ashes will supply valuable potash to the soil.

Even though the lawn might be frozen, dont make paths over it. Heavy traffic causes soil compaction and often destroys the grass.

If the evergreens are not already tied up, as a protection against snow damage, they should be taken care of as soon as possible.

Living with Type 2 Diabetes

Posted by: charlie reese | Comments (0)

The incidence of type 2 diabetes is far more common than it was just a few decades ago. Adult onset diabetes (type 2) is now being diagnosed in children, teens and younger adults. Whereas type 2 diabetes used to be considered an older person’s disease, this is no longer the case. With childhood obesity on the rise as well, it’s reasonable to make a connection between diet and weight as contributing factors.

If you’re overweight, eat poorly and live a sedentary lifestyle, you may be setting yourself up for diabetes, no matter what your age. If you’ve been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, or have other risk factors such as a genetic disposition to diabetes, a family history or have developed diabetes during pregnancy, it’s especially important that you take action to prevent diabetes. Here are some guidelines on the steps you should take to prevent diabetes.

In a recent large study, which followed patient’s health records over a sixteen year period, it was concluded that being overweight was perhaps more important than exercise in preventing diabetes. Women with a body mass index (BMI) of 40 were 28 times more likely to develop type 2 diabetes than women of normal weight and BMI. Patients who were obese, yet exercised 3-4 hours a day for five days each week, were still 11 times more likely to develop diabetes than their slim counterparts without a regular exercise program.

This is not to say that you should not exercise, but instead suggests that, if you’re overweight, weight loss should be a primary goal in preventing diabetes. Achieving a normal weight and BMI will exponentially reduce your risk of developing diabetes.

Incorporating a regular program of exercise does not necessarily mean this will directly prevent diabetes, but you will burn extra calories and improve your cardiovascular function and circulation, which are typical complications of type 2 diabetes.

Whatever diet program you choose, start switching to whole, preferably organic foods, rich in complex carbohydrates (those which break down slowly), with plenty of fruits and veggies, low in fat and high in fiber. Nutrient-dense foods should be your first choices. If you eat meat, go for smaller portions of organically raised meats which contain no growth hormones. Processed foods contain high levels of chemicals, preservatives, dyes and other food additives, along with large amounts of salt and sugar. Read the labels and see for yourself. When your goal is to prevent diabetes, such foods are going to contribute to a pre-diabetic condition, eventually. The convenience they offer is not worth the risk!

One of the most important steps you can take to prevent diabetes is to restrict your sugar intake. In type 2 diabetes, your body no longer efficiently manages insulin production. If you’re a big soda fan or dessert freak, your system is constantly taxed with big sugar spikes which can literally wear out your body’s ability to manage your blood sugar. If you must drink soda, look for some of the new products which are made with Splenda(R) rather than sugar. Although I rarely drink sodas, I’ve tried these Splenda(R) drinks and they do taste like sugar, without that funny aftertaste of the regular diet sodas. Try using this sugar to sweeten coffee or lemonade and substitute Splenda(R) in recipes that call for sugar.

When you consider that processed convenience foods were hardly as plentiful three decades ago as they are today, these foods become a likely contributing culprit in the rise of diabetes cases, as well as increased incidence of obesity in young children and adults. To prevent diabetes, get into good dietary habits. Get your kids into healthy eating habits as well. Good health is worth its weight in gold!

But in this world on the move that we live in, one must not forget the capacity to appreciate beauty. It is this trait, the ability to seek something beautiful, that makes humanity distinct from the instinct-driven animals. Arts and crafts should thus remain as part of our culture; never make the mistake of thinking that objects of ornamentation are useless.

Craft shows still figure a lot these days for this very reason, especially in Florida. Amidst an urban setting, amidst all the noise and confusion, these fairs bring some comfort in a species that is moving too fast. Don’t you want to just pause for a moment, and just appreciate life for that which is not readily apparent?

The craft of an artist is a shred of her soul. By going to craft fairs and festivals, you see these talented individuals through their works. By buying their crafts, you share a piece of their being, and you infuse your own energies into the craft.

Even if you are at a comfortable pace with the fast flow of the urban life, you will probably be able to find time to pause and smell the roses. To save you the trouble of finding a craft show in your area, there are numerous websites on the Internet that keep a listing of all craft shows that happen within the year.

Coffee is the product of a seed that is grown both in rows in sun or more traditionally on the hillsides under shade. The coffee plants blossom and the fruit of the blossoms are the coffee berries. The two major species of coffee are the most popular Arabica and the more bitter Robusto. These berries are fermented, soaked, hulled and sorted, dried, and then the beans can be ground, whether at home or commercially, into many different forms of a consumable beverage.

The coffee plant is indigenous to the subtropical areas of Africa and southern Asia. It has spread for cultivation in warm areas all around the tropical Earth. From Columbia to Kona, Viet Nam to Brazil, coffee plants produce some of the most sought after berries on Earth. Coffee was first consumed in Ethiopia, but not in liquid form; the berries from the coffee shrubs were consumed by goats. The goats then seemed to have a positive reaction to the fruit, and their actions were mimicked by the goat herders. The caffeine in the berries, and its affects on the body, were then discovered and the popularity of the plant is now multi-billion dollar history.

The Muslims are credited with introducing the drink to Italy, and the Italians then helped to spread the drink through out Europe. England’s first coffee house was built in the late 17th century. What exactly all of these people were drinking isn’t always known, but there have been various methods of consuming coffee, from chewing the berries, to drinking coffee as a cold mix of the grounds and water, to the hot drink espressos and lattes of today.

As with many popular substances, coffee has had a past rife with controversy. It has been both banned and blessed by several religious organizations at different time in history. Coffee has been used in religious observances in Yemen and parts of Africa; it was banned by the Ethiopian Church. The Ottoman empire in Turkey also banned its use during a political struggle in 17th century and their have been many political rebellions across Europe regarding its use.

The Dutch imported coffee on a huge scale. They were so enthralled with the beverage that they were more than willing to ignore the trade embargo with the Arabs against exporting coffee. Seeds were smuggled in 1616 by Pieter van den Broeck into Europe and planted in Java and Ceylon.

The Roman Catholics, prior to 1600, considered the black liquid the devil’s drink, given to Muslims to replace wine. Pope Clement VII, who really enjoyed the brewed concoction, baptized the drink. Venice became a very popular import site for the beans, and coffee spread across Europe.

Chapter 13 bankruptcy law is on occasion referred to as reorganization bankruptcy. It’s very different than Chapter 7 bankruptcy. In a Chapter 7 bankruptcy virtually all of your debts are extinguished. But, you must forfeit any belongings that aren’t exempt from seizure by your creditors. Under Chapter 13 bankruptcy law, you aren’t required to abandon any personal items. But, you’re expected to use your income to pay back some or all of what you owe your creditors. Your payments to creditors are made over time, typically from three to five years. The time frame depends upon the size of your debts and income.

Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Eligibility Prerequisites

Chapter 13 bankruptcy isn’t for everybody. Chapter 13 bankruptcy law calls for using your income to pay back some or all of your debt. So, you’ll have to show to the court that you’re able to fulfill your payment responsibilities. If your income is unpredictable or too low, the court might not allow you to file under Chapter 13 bankruptcy law.

If your total debt load is too high, you’re also ineligible to file under Chapter 13 bankruptcy law. Your secured debts can’t be greater than $1,010,650. A “secured debt” is one that gives a creditor the right to take away a specified piece of property (like your house or auto) if you don’t pay off the debt. Your unsecured debts can’t be more than $336,900. An “unsecured debt” doesn’t give your creditor the right to take your properties. An example of an “unsecured debt” is a credit card or a medical bill.

Commencing a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy

Before filing a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, you must go through credit counseling from an agency authorized by the United States Trustee’s office. These agencies are permitted to charge a fee for their services. But, if you can’t afford to pay the fee, they have to furnish reduced rate counseling and, in a few cases, free counseling.

Chapter 13 Repayment Plans

The most significant component of your Chapter 13 bankruptcy paperwork is your repayment plan. It identifies in detail how much money you’ll dedicate to every one of your debts. There’s no standard form for the plan. But, almost all courts provide their own forms.

How Much Will You Be Required to Pay

Your Chapter 13 plan must pay specific debts in full. These debts are called “priority debts” because they’re viewed important enough to jump to the head of the bankruptcy repayment line. Priority debts include child support and alimony, wages you owe to employees, and certain tax obligations. Additionally, your plan must encompass your normal payments on secured debts.

The plan must establish that any income you have remaining after getting to these compulsory payments will go toward paying off your unsecured debts. You don’t have to repay these unsecured debts in full. You just have to exhibit that you’re applying any unconsumed income towards their repayment.

How Long Will Your Repayment Plan Last

The duration of your repayment plan turns on how much you earn and how big your debts are. If your average monthly income during the six months before the date you filed for bankruptcy is more than the average income for your state, you’ll have to volunteer a five-year plan. If your income is less than the typical, you may suggest a three-year plan.

Regardless of how much you bring in, your plan stops when you repay all of your debts in full, even if you’ve not arrived at the three- or five-year mark.

What Goes On If You Can’t Produce Plan Payments

If you sustain a job loss after embarking on a payment plan or discover that you can’t sustain the payments on your Chapter 13 bankruptcy plan, the bankruptcy trustee may modify your plan. It’s even feasible that the court could allow for the discharge of your debts on the ground of hardship. Hardship may include the abrupt loss of a job due to a company closedown or a serious debilitating sickness. If the bankruptcy court won’t allow you to change your plan or give you a hardship discharge, you may be able to shift to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

How Does a Chapter 13 Case Conclude

After you finish your repayment plan, every leftover debt that’s eligible for a discharge is wiped out. But, before you’ll be able to acquire a discharge, you must prove to the court that you’re up-to-date on your child support responsibilities and that you’ve finished a budget counseling course with an agency approved by the United States Trustee. This budget counseling course is in addition to the required credit counseling you experience prior to filing for bankruptcy.
