The Clear Skin Diet How to Defeat Acne and Enjoy Healthy Skin
Today more than ever, adults are seeing an increase in acne. Particularly women. Scientists believe this could be due to a change in the diets of Americans since WW2. The Clear Skin Diet is believed to hold the keys to clearer skin for those who follow its guidelines. Research has shown that there is a strong causal connection between certain kinds of foods and acne. When a person experiences anxiety and depression, acne-producing hormones are released, which can lead to poor dietary choices high in saturated fatty acids and sugars. Most important, the anti-acne diet introduces the acne diet and lifestyle. Most interesting are the 50 acne-preventive recipes that are provided, along with information on how one can locate some of the ingredients that are not readily available in most ordinary grocery stores. Does the Expression “Cheap is Expensive” Make Sense When Advertising a New or Small Business?

April 23, 2008

Most business people are under the misconception that to advertise their products and services needs to cost them a fortune. I am a firm believer that does not have to be the case. Over my years in business I have been faced with same problems most startup or existing business people have to deal with, when considering advertising their products or services. My main objective was always to try and reduce my advertising expenses to almost nothing, but still get the same results as someone else spending thousands. Simply by using a bit of ingenuity, I figured out ways to save big dollars on advertising my endeavors. Here is an example of just one of the ways I accomplished it in a coffee business: In the mid to late eighties I created my own brand of coffee. The selling points were it had no fillers or chicory, but a pure smooth blend of the world?s finest coffee beans. I knew that once someone who was a coffee lover had tried it, they would desire it again and again. The product was a tad more expensive then the usual coffee, because of the quality. The challenge was how to promote without spending a fortune. I realized that trying to go into the retail grocery stores would be too costly. So I did some research on the office coffee business. Most companies who had a coffee service had yearly contracts that forced them to purchase not only their coffee, but all the fixings. To add insult to injury they were also obliged to make minimal monthly purchases if they needed product or not. In return they received a coffee maker to use until the duration of the contract. I saw a wonderful opportunity to get into the office coffee business. My company?s platform would be as follows: No contracts, no minimal monthly purchase, they could get their fixing cheaper locally, and my coffee pouch was set for 12 rich cups, not the usual 10. As a special introduction offer by just purchasing three boxes, they would receive a 12 cup coffee maker free. The coffee was priced at $79.00/box, or .79 cents a pot with shipping included. The cool part is that my advertising and promotion was just long distance and coffee makers. This was built into the price. My cost per box with my logo on each package was $29.00. After awhile I built up a great business with happy clients giving me regular orders. You could have the best product, service, or business going, without exposure nobody will even know you exist. In my opinion, I definitely believe when advertising a new or small business, cheap is not expensive!! The trick is finding a ways to advertise without it costing an arm and leg. Sports Jerseys and Business?

April 19, 2008

I wouldn’t exactly say that I hate sports clothing. It is just fine for what it is designed for. The popularity of sports fashion, however, baffles me.  New York is different than the rest of the country in many ways, but one of  the biggest differences is in fashion sensibilities.  Even if they don’t have a lot of money, people in New York generally believe in looking good. They were overcoats in the winter, colorful, flattering, light clothing in the summer, and comfortable, layered outfits in the fall and spring.

Wicking Sweat, Not Making Business Deals

I play soccer, and I wouldn’t do it without soccer shorts, cleats, and a lightweight jersey designed to wick sweat away from my skin. They are nice, practical, functional clothes designed for a specific game, and I use them for that game.

It is very intriguing, the fact that even businessman are using sports clothing as a way to dress up.  I grew up in the South and of course, I love my beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, but to do business with the man wearing Yankees jersey strikes me as a nice strange!  Maybe it’s because of the fact he is a Yankee if he supports the Yankees, oh well!  Back to the subject at hand, it just isn’t professional.

It seems like everyone wants to wear sports clothing. I can understand wearing it in the summer, but people even wear it in the winter! There is nothing more boring and bland than a baseball cap, but these are basically the only kinds of hats people own. Even though a nice, broad brimmed hat is more practical and attractive, you almost never see them. Sports clothes are the rule everywhere.

Sloppy Dress Harkens Back to The Care-free Days of Youth

Don’t get me wrong, some sports clothing is pretty well-designed. Columbia sports wear, for example, is excellent clothing if you are going to take a hike, go camping, or spend any extended length of time outdoors. Nonetheless, if you’re just hanging out around town, you might as well look good. People spend lots of money on their official team throwback jerseys and Air Jordan tennies, never realizing that they look sloppy in a t-shirt, sneakers, and athletic pants. But really, it goes back to a childhood fantasy of being a winner.

The funny thing is that the trend is even spreading to New York. I’m not a very vain person, but I didn’t realize how much I would miss the dark, well tailored trench coats until I started to see them replaced by warm-up jackets! I can understand when kids pick up on the trend – they don’t know better – but even adults are starting to dress in sports clothing. If you are going to wear a shirt and shorts, you should at least not spend a fortune on the outfit! After all, what is the point?

The Right Name Is Crucial For A Business Start-up

April 14, 2008

It is a lot to starting a new business. More than most people realize. It takes a lot of skills and experience. There is incorporating, hiring competent people, coming up with a business plan, getting investors, getting retail space “ you get the idea. The one thing that you need to consider is your business name.

The Search For A Business Name

Trying to figure out the right business name can be tough. It takes a lot of thought to getting it right the first time, because if you mess up as you come out of the gate, it is hard to get your horse back in the race.

The key to business name ideas is to not think of them in isolation. It is true that every once in a while, a brilliant business name suggestion comes along. If this happens to you, you can use it as a starting point. You can cater the branding strategy, the slogans, the corporate logos “ everything to that particular business name. In general, however, business name suggestions should be part of a more integrated approach.

How to Name Your Business With A Brand In Mind

Everyone has an opinion on how to best name a business. There are really three schools of thought regarding this process. One thinks of the business name best when it is abstract, the likes to paint a vivid picture using descriptive words, and the other tries to coin cute names. Coined names are made-up words. Any name can be made to work, but there are definitely benefits to picking the right name.. I happen to be in the camp that likes to paint the vivid picture of what a business does.

Having Difficulty Coming Up With A Business Name?

Brainstorming can be an excellent way to generate good ideas. I like to use the branch method of brainstorming for 10 minutes. Then I go over my ideas and group them. I then take combinations and even partial word combos and see what I can find. Important also to me is whether or not the domain name is available for the business, because I want it to be unique and to be able to have the .com address for my business name.

You can hire a professional service to help you come up with a business name, but I would have to say that most people can develop a good business name if they think about it for a while. So don’t fret, just get busy developing your own business name.

Acne Can Be Eradicated By Nurturing Your Skin With A Good Diet & This Secret Product

The Clear Skin Diet How to Defeat Acne and Enjoy Healthy Skin
Today more than ever, adults are seeing an increase in acne. Particularly women. Scientists believe this could be due to a change in the diets of Americans since WW2. The Clear Skin Diet is designed to help those who suffer from the condition to understand what acne is, why they have it, what it has to do with their eating habits, and what they can do to prevent it or lessen its impact. Food is so important to the clarity of skin in relation to acne. It also shows that certain fats, such as omega-3 fatty acids, protect against acne, while others containing saturated, trans fats can promote acne by increasing the level of inflammation and oxidative stress in the skin. On the other hand, culinary herbs like ginger and turmeric are known to dampen acne breakouts. These same dietary stresses also influence the level of the hormones that cause acne. While fruits and vegetables, green tea, soy, fish, berries, and fiber-rich whole foods lessen these adrogens, meat and milk promote these acne-related hormones, as do sugar and low-fiber carbohydrates. Most important, the anti-acne diet introduces the acne diet and lifestyle. Most interesting are the 50 acne-preventive recipes that are provided, along with information on how one can locate some of the ingredients that are not readily available in most ordinary grocery stores. Online Advertising. What To Look For In An Emagazine Publisher.

April 4, 2008

Emagazine advertising is one of the most popular ways to market yourself online. Not only is your advert or article going out by email, if your publisher is archiving each Emagazine, the search engines are looking at it as well. Search the Internet, sign up for a few relevant Emagazines and choose your publisher carefully. Ensure they maintain the following standards: MAILING LIST MANAGEMENT Each Emagazine must have a mailing list, which is double opt in, with an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each issue. If your chosen publisher does this, then you know they offer a quality service. Furthermore, each reader will have gone through 2 processes to get on the mailing list. That is dedication and they are definitely interested in reading the publication. This is good news for you and your advertising campaign! QUALITY CONTENT Each Emagazine should have quality content that is relevant to the publication. Content is king on the Internet and search engines love it. Look for editorial, articles and quality features. Is the content friendly? How well is it written? EMAGAZINE ARCHIVES Does your chosen publisher archive their Emagazines online? If they do, then this is a sure way to get real value from your advert. Each of your adverts, that has a link to your site in, will remain online and work for you well into the future. SUBSCRIBER NUMBERS Check how many subscribers your publisher has and how established the Emagazine is. Review this carefully. 1000 + is a good number to start with, but depending on the publication, even 100 well placed subscribers can be good for your exposure. TESTIMONIALS FROM OTHER ADVERTISERS Does the publisher offer any testimonials from previous advertisers? The more of these the better, it means that the Emagazine works. HELP WITH YOUR CAMPAIGN Designing a campaign that doesn?t hurt the pocket or give you a headache is an art. Does your publisher offer you a suggested campaign that is within your budget? How have they helped others with their advertising? QUALITY PRESENTATION Check out the archives of the Emagazines that you propose to advertise in and rate them for quality. The last thing you want to do, is to be associated with a publication that does not have any design sense or worse still, typing errors! You will not go wrong if you look carefully at each of these items and use this list as a checklist, before you decide where to advertise. Good luck! *About the Author*: The author of this article, Roz Edwards, established The Friday Team in 2001. The Friday Team is an online publisher, who produces quality Emagazines for locations in the UK and Malawi. The Friday Team can be found online at http://www.fridayteam.com
